Footsteps

Speaking of footsteps, Jeff Greenfield’s piece at Politico on the inroads that Trump is making among Ohio Democrats highlights the point I’ve been making for months now.

Unless you think that Sec. Clinton will carry states that Mitt Romney carried in 2012, she has to carry the states that Obama did. She can’t lose Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia, and so on.

I would also observe that the Clinton campaign’s strategy requires massive spending. If they’re forced to spend to defend states that should have been safe, that could become quite problematic.

It is amusing that the people who are not affected by or benefit from the rigged system found Trump’s speech dark and ominous. If your world is about to be dismantled, I guess it is horrifying. I saw it as an uplifting and hopeful speech.

For Trump supporters, you might want to remember that others have been trapped in this rigged system. The innocent people being killed in Chicago have not asked to be terrorized anymore than you have asked to be marginalized, but where you have gone along to get along because you might lose a job or friends, they did it because they might lose their life.

They need a champion, too. They need an honest broker who will not use them and toss them aside like dirty underwear. I would suggest that there are actual human beings no different than yourselves, and for years, you have not stood up for yourselves. They are no different, and they are a lot more vulnerable than you.

For all those who were cheering as the elegant black man was systematically removing all the safety mechanisms from the levers of government, January 21, 2017 is going to be a really fun day for you. Those levers will be in the hands of not just any old white man. They will be in the hands of an old white man who does not give a rats ass about your shaming bullshit.

I’m sure Hillary’s supporters on Wall Street & around the Persian Gulf will pony up whatever it takes.

Elegant, ELEGANT, yes that is the word for him.

It is a quote that the long time commenters and lurkers will recognize. Several years back, our famous fiction writer informed us that the reason white people hated President Obama was because they could not stand the thought of an “elegant black man as president”. This might have been directed at @Icepick (@…).

I still refer to the long time commenters by the names I originally found them.

I try to respect President Obama, but famous fiction writers are another story.
