Glenn Reynold draws attention to this odd story from StrategyPage:Â the North Koreans are, apparently, hijacking Chinese railway cars used for food aid deliveries, claiming that the railway cars themselves are part of the aid.
So, here’s my question: where does China get its railway cars? Build them themselves? Japan? I wouldn’t be surprised if China buys up old railway cars.
Any railroad buffs out there?
The Chinese has several factories and builds more rail cars
than rest of the world combined.
The latest rail cars for the Qinghai-Tibet line is revolutionary.
It is pressurized and sealed just like airplanes, as they
operate at altitudes higher than many commericial airplanes
flies.
China also has the only magnetic levitation railroad in commercial
operation in the world.
