Catching my eye: morning A through Z

Here’s what’s caught my eye this morning:

  • On a cheerier note, Armchair Generalist has a short summary of the State Department’s biennial chemical and bacteriological warfare non-compliance report. There’s good news! Armchair Generalist’s job is secure.
  • Balkinization has an interesting history of the strict construction of the U. S. Constitution as it applies to disaster relief.
  • Environmental Economics comments on the proposed CAFE standards.
  • Orca-blogging from Orcinus.

That’s the lot.

  • Another legal issue that often comes up re federal support for disaster response is “posse commitatus.” More heat than light is ususally generated when it’s discussed. Col Pat Lang has an interesting post on what he learned in Army schools on the topic.

  • Don Sensing had a post on that subject yesterday.
