Bad News for Nancy Pelosi

Use of Botox may have deleterious long-term effects:

The study found that animals injected with Clostridium Botulinum type A neurotoxin complex (BOTOX, Allergan, Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada) experienced muscle weakness in muscles throughout the body, even though they were far removed from the injection site. The study also found that repeated injection induced muscle atrophy and loss of contractile tissue in the limb that was not injected with the toxin.

The use of clostridium botulinum type A neurotoxin complex makes some sense when it’s for a serious, therapeutic purpose, e.g. cerebral palsy. Use for cosmetic purposes? Not so much. Especially when it’s being used by the young. See also here.

Wow. Who’d have guessed shooting deadly toxins into your body would be bad for you?

  • Yeah, it’s a bolt from the blue.

This fits in with my theory that anything that can kill you probably isn’t that good for you. So, for example, although exercise is good marathon running isn’t so good.

My way of saying it is that marathon running resembles a “survival event.” Yeah, your body will do that, but probably because it assumes someone is chasing you for that long.

As opposed to moderate exercise looking like a “hunting event,” and normal for us.

I read somewhere that actors and actresses that use botox are sometimes denied roles because of the lack of affect the stuff induces. I suppose there’s some kind of sad irony in that because they use botox to fend off the effects of aging so they can continue to get parts…
