Abortion and Omicron

The two stories dominating the opinion pages today are abortion and the latest COVID-19 variant dubbed “omicron”, abortion because of the impending Supreme Court case and omicron because if it bleeds it leads. I don’t much care to write much more about either one of them.

I find extremism in just about any form distressing and that obtains to both abortion rights absolutists and those who want to ban abortion entirely. The Texas law seems pretty extreme to me but the Mississippi law seems to be pretty closely aligned with the laws of France, Germany, and most liberal democracies. The only country I know of that has abortion on demand right up to term is China. When you’re in that sort of company you might want to reconsider your position.

Until we have more information I’ve already written what I have to say about omicron. We’ll see.

    I’m wondering why the omicron variant is unnerving the elites, and perhaps their reset goals. Is it because it’s so deadly? It could turn into a more lethal mutation, but so far has been described as mild, not requiring hospitalization.

    Or, is it because this new variant is not effected by the vaccines being incessantly mandated by the powers that be? Even the maderna CEO is predicting a drop in vaccines’ power due to the omicron variant. Another researcher is also musing this more infectious, but milder variant might infect more people, manifesting in a substantially better natural immunity outcome that has been jeered by a consensus of vaccine pushers, which could then actually “speed up the end of the COVID pandemic.” Fauci would certainly be disappointed by this as it would curb his TV appearances. But, it would definitely add to the greater good of the people, which has thus far been totally lost in the mass hysteria churned up by politicians, various medical organizations, and media cohorts.

    @jan

    If the elites want to keep the power they have amassed, they need the hysteria to continue, and with people becoming fed-up with their power grab, each new variant must be the worst. It will never stop.

    Regarding immunity, COVID will probably be like the flu. New variants will emerge, and new vaccines will need to be produced.
