The Council Has Spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was Bookworm Room’s post, “A Stunningly Dishonest Piece of Advocacy Writing About the Supreme Court”. This is a critique of a a New Yorker piece by Jeffrey Toobin on a Supreme Court ruling in which Bookworm suggests that Mr. Toobin has got both the decision and the law wrong, disingenuously so. Second place honors went to Cheat Seeking Missiles’s post on a Washington Post opinion piece on the best way to surrender in Iraq, “’The Most Ridiculous Story of the Year (2)”.

The winning non-Council post was Seraphic Secret’s post, “The Rupture”. This post is about the groups and men that Israel finds arrayed against it. Second place honors went to Anwyn’s Notes in the Margin’s post, “Muslim Speaks at My Church, Calls Me ‘Naive’, Also ‘Tough’”. Although I didn’t vote for this latter post I did find it interesting.

The complete results are here.
