That’s the view through my front window. The tree is a Japanese maple, var. Twombly’s Red Sentinel. As you can see, it has a more upright form and a denser cluster of leaves than the typical Japanese maple that you see. When I took this picture it was just at the perfect time of day at the perfect time of year. The sunlight pierces right through the leaves, turning the whole tree into a blazing torch of color.
