The Republican National Convention

by Dave Schuler on August 27, 2012

I doubt that I’ll comment much on the RNC this week. This is about it. Does anybody have any ideas on how we could ensure that hurricanes threaten all political conventions? The word I’m getting is that the plan is to condense what they’d planned to do in a week into three days by shortening speeches. That sounds like an unqualified good to me.

All conventions paid for by taxpayer dollers must be held in Cape Hatteras, NC. (hurricane hits within 60-70 miles every 2.49 yrs on average, most in U.S.)

Oh come on, let’s make them really pay the price. All political conventions must be held in the dryest county in Alabama.

All conventions must be held in Port-au-Prince, Haiti during hurricane season. Or, if they must be held on US soil, on the US Virgin Islands.

Actually I don’t care where they hold them as long as (a) they don’t hold them HERE and (b) I’m not forced to watch.

If Romney loses the election, a few people will blame the hurricane. You heard it here first.

Also, I won’t wish a hurricane curse on political conventions. The politicos will whine about the weather, but the locals will suffer the consequences.

Andy, speaking of Hurricane curse, here are some ones from
Samuel L. Jackson, regarding his thoughts on the R’s being ’spared.’

It should be noted that Doug is winning the thread.

Is Doug talking rainfall or booze? :-)

What, no sympathy for the rent boys and girls?

Icepick August 27, 2012 at 9:30 pm

Janis, I deleted a comment on that very topic!

Such a tasteful lad.

Jan,

Sam Jackson may not realize it, but he’s saying he wishes the people of Tampa had been hit by the hurricane. I think the Schadenfreude by Obama supporters regarding this storm could come back to haunt them.

Such a tasteful lad.

And an excitable boy. But not this excitable.

Icepick August 28, 2012 at 7:02 am

Andy, what makes you think they care about the people of Tampa or anyone else that isn’t part of the fabulous and superior elect?

Janis Gore August 28, 2012 at 9:04 am

Thank you, Icepick.

Andy August 28, 2012 at 11:45 am

Ice,

They may not care about the people of Tampa, but I suspect they care about the voters in Tampa.
