Catching my eye: morning A through Z

Here’s what’s caught my eye this morning:

  • Today is the 64th anniversary of the attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, the “day that will live in infamy”. Argghhh! has a photographic remembrance. Reflections from Mark in Mexico. Michelle Malkin has a round-up.
  • A Daily Briefing on Iran also has a photo montage—theirs is on the plane crash in Iran yesterday. ¡No Pasarán! wonders why anyone is blaming the crash on the US trade embargo when the Iranians could well have bought aircraft elsewhere. Well, we wouldn’t want to cut into their nuclear weapons development program now, would we?
  • The Weblog Awards voting is still going on. The Glittering Eye has received endorsements from Dean Esmay of Dean’s World, Joe Katzman and Marc Danziger of Winds of Change, Joe Gandelman of The Moderate Voice, Val Prieto of Babalu Blog, Mark Safranski of ZenPundit, Simon World, Alexandra von Maltzan of All Things Beautiful, and Pundita. I sincerely appreciate these votes of confidence and approval. They’re (almost) as good as actually winning. Maybe even better.
  • Environmental Economics dips into the mailbag to (at long last) to answer reader questions as promised.
  • I’m having problems reaching a lot (but not all) of the Blogger blogs. Anybody else?
  • Ideoblog posts on blogger liability for defamatory comments, a subject which all bloggers should consider since such comments are something of a pre-occupational hazard.
  • The Middle East is not a monoculture.

That’s the lot.

  • Bad link to the Weblog Awards. I was trying to go vote for you.

  • Thanks, amba. I’ve fixed it now. The link is correct at the top of the page and in my sidebar.
