Catching my eye: morning A through Z

Here’s what’s caught my eye this morning:

  • A visit from the FBI to the home of bloggers Beth Donovan of SWWBO and John Donovan of Argghhh!.
  • FuturePundit has a post I found extremely interesting on the worldwide rise in CO2 emissions and the the dwindling likelihood that the EU-15 (who have committed to a reduction) will be able to meet their own targets.
  • James Joyner of Outside the Beltway notes that Honda has announced they’ll be producing a dog-friendly car. They don’t know from dog-friendly. Our cars are dog-friendly from the crates in the back to the hair on the seats to the dog-kanji on the windows.
  • I continue to think that Scott Ott has the discussion on the Miers nomination to the Supreme Court completely nailed.
  • Cassandra of Villainous Company throws down the gauntlet to those on the Right complaining so bitterly about the Miers nomination.
  • ZenPundit posts on gifted students.

That’s the lot.

  • re: the dog car, I’m interested to know your thoughts on the dog holders, seeing as how they’re not really good restraints….. I was somewhat surprised. My dog always rides with a “seat belt” attached to her harness or collar or in her crate with it wedged in place so that she’ll be safe and not go flying in an accident.

  • If it weren’t so sad, it would have been funny. You can’t tell an enormous amount from the picture but what they showed didn’t look too great to me. We generally keep the dogs crated or harnessed in the car. There are several decent harnesses on the market like this one.

  • that’s what we have. Or at least, one very like it.
