The Watcher’s Council has announced its winners for the past week. This week the winner in the Council post category was Joshuapundit’s “Update On UCSD MSA Member Who Admitted She Wants A Second Holocaustâ€. Second place honors went to Rhymes With Right’s “A Tale Of Two Controversies — UPDATED & BUMPED”, another take on the same subject.
The winning non-Council post was Iowahawk’s“Invisible Assholes”. Second place honors went to Doug Ross @ Journal’s “Illinois Melts Down: the Inevitable Result of Unchecked Democrat Rule”. I thought this was a good post on a subject near and dear to my heart. I disagreed, however, with Doug’s implied conclusion that a tax increase should have no role in straightening out Illinois’s fiscal house. While I don’t think that increasing the income tax should be the only measure taken or even constitute the greater part of the solution, I do think that we’re going to need an increase in the state income tax here.
